A Year on the Jack’s Fork River Corridor – Ozarks National Scenic Riverways

Starting today, October 5, 2025, I’m documenting a year on the Jack’s Fork River in the Ozark National Scenic Riverways—river, forests, and the wild horses—using large-format black-and-white film. ‘

My goal is simple: to help you fall in love with the Ozarks so that we can protect the rivers, land, and the wild horses.

I’ll be sharing field articles and videos, as well as seasonal comparisons and notes on how floods, erosion, time, seasons, and light shape the land.

Ten percent of all print sales supports the Ozark Riverways Foundation and the Missouri Wild Horse League.

If you believe protecting our natural resources and wildlife is important, consider following this series over the next year.

First story drops next week at timlaytonfineart.com, and you can ensure you get the latest updates via my newsletter.

Using large format cameras and traditional darkroom methods, he creates handmade photographic prints that document the region’s historic landmarks—water-powered mills, covered bridges, and old towns—before they are lost to time. His work is rooted in craft, patience, and the belief that these places deserve to be preserved with the same care with which they were built.
